Our guides exist to help self-employed people make sound money decisions. These are the rules we follow to keep them accurate and fair.

Sources first

We build each guide from primary sources, mainly IRS publications, form instructions and official guidance, and list them at the end of the page. When a rule depends on your state, we say so instead of guessing.

How guides are checked

Every figure, limit and deadline in a guide is checked against the sources listed at the end of that guide before it is published and whenever it is updated. Guides are written by Isaac and are not reviewed by a CPA or Enrolled Agent, which is why tax, retirement and insurance guides carry a clear note that they are educational information, not advice.

Dated figures, checked every year

Contribution limits, tax brackets, the Social Security wage base and deadlines change every year. Figures are for the 2026 tax year unless a guide says otherwise. We recheck them against IRS.gov each December and show a "last updated" date on every guide.

Independence

Guides do not name or rank commercial products. If we ever add product comparisons or affiliate links, they will be labeled, and compensation will never decide what we recommend.

Plain English

We define terms the first time we use them, lead with the answer and keep examples realistic.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, email isaacandresscr@gmail.com. We fix confirmed errors promptly and update the date on the guide.
